Foods That Help With Constipation

constipated womanPeople who experience constipation often find it difficult to have a normal bowel movement or a normal number of bowel movements in the course of a week. Constipation may be caused by a poor diet or by dehydration. Drinking plenty of water and eating foods that encourage proper bowel movement can help alleviate symptoms of constipation. Constipation stools are usually dry, hard and small, and can be hard to pass. People with constipation often complain of a feeling of fullness in the bowel, bloating, and may find it hard to pass a bowel movement or experience lots of straining when having a bowel movement.

It is important to eat a fiber-rich diet to help alleviate constipation. An average adult needs between 25 and 30 grams of fiber to keep constipation at bay. If you eat far less than this amount, slowly increase your fiber intake over the course of a week. Suddenly changing your diet and rapidly increasing your fiber intake can cause problems in your digestive tract. Strawberries, blackberries and raspberries all contain a healthy amount of fiber and can help relieve constipation. Beans, such as the lima, navy, kidney, pinto, and great Northern varieties can provide twice as much fiber as other vegetables, greatly helping your digestive tract return to a normal function. Foods That Fight Indigestion

Indigestion problems can arise often unforeseen and the problems can be problematic and annoying, it may cause discomfort such as bloating, flatulence, belching and more. Indigestion or the medical term dyspepsia can cause pain and discomfort for the sufferer. Indigestion can bring symptoms such as acid reflux or GERD or be the result of these conditions, the former being acid that comes back up through the throat. One of the primary causes is an imbalance in the stomachs levels of hydrochloric acid. This is a strong acid, and in incorrect levels can cause burning sensations in both the stomach, chest and esophagus, (the throat), with the latter feeling like a burning sensation is rising up through the throat.  The correct levels of this acid mean that you will not have indigestion symptoms. Without it you can’t digest food properly.

Other causes can be factors such as: eating too fast, eating too many fatty foods, the wrong foods, stress, smoking, drinking too much and more, such as underlining medical conditions. Certain foods that are very spicy may also cause indigestion. Asian people frequently consume spicy foods. During an asthma attack, the muscles surrounding the airways become tight causing the air passage to swell, reducing the amount of air that can pass through. Asthma may be caused by inhaling allergens like pet hair or dander, dust, chemicals, mold, pollen or tobacco smoke. Some asthma patients experience asthma attacks often, while others may go weeks or months without experiencing an attack. These attacks can last from a few minutes to several days, and become more severe the more the airflow is restricted. Asthma may be treated by taking preventative medications to help control the asthma, or by taking drugs or using a medicated inhaler to stop the attack once it starts.
